Frequently Asked Questions for Live-In Caregiver Services

Atlantic Private Care Services offers live-in care in two-week increments.

Minimum engagement: One week (ideal for post-hospital recovery)
Typical duration: Many clients choose long-term placements lasting months or years
A private bedroom must be provided for the home health aide.

Required furnishings: Bed, nightstand, dresser
Private bathroom: Not required
Note: Home surveillance is not permitted in the aide’s room/shared bathroom
Clients or their families are responsible for providing groceries to the aide.

Include: Proteins, starches, fruits, vegetables
Aides: Manage their own ethnic/specialty dietary needs
Personal items: Supplied by the aide
Aides typically engage with clients for up to 14 hours per day.

Schedule: Based on client needs and preferences
Aides must receive:
• 5 uninterrupted hours of sleep
• Meal and rest breaks
If an aide needs time off, Atlantic Private Care will assign a replacement.

Clients must have: An emergency contact/support system
In urgent cases: (e.g., illness, family emergency), hourly aides may be dispatched to ensure supervision
Yes, interviews are available!

Video interviews: Complimentary
In-person interviews: Nominal fee applies (covers aide’s time and travel)
Aides may drive clients in the client’s vehicle only.

Client vehicles only: Aides cannot use their personal cars for transport
Required: Proof of registration, inspection, and insurance
Tip: Request an approved driver during your consultation
